The Story

The Challenge

We are a leading Australian University leading a multi-partnership program to empower communities to lead their recovery from natural disasters, leveraging indigenous wisdom. So far our team consists of two different organizations that work differently, with a different culture of communication. We want to improve transparency and alignment, communicate collectively back to stakeholders with demonstrated outcomes, and be clear on accountability to show a return on investment and gain future funding.

Our Approach

In collaboration with the University, we worked with the program team using a range of key approaches to get alignment from all partners:

Facilitated OKR and Roadmapping workshops to align the team on expected outcomes and priorities, and break down the work needed to deliver them
Delivered follow-up small-group coaching sessions to refine and uplift OKRs, define sprint goals and create tangible work items
Closely collaborated with the team responsible for embedding ways of working so that agile receives buy-in and is sustainable — including focused training to build skills and alignment across the broader team, and agreeing an approach that supports cultural considerations such as interactions, language and indigenous participation
Facilitated Showcases for the various teams to celebrate and share learnings

Outcomes

Using OKRs, roadmapping and coaching, ADAPTOVATE aligned the multi-organisation program team on shared outcomes and priorities — improving transparency, accountability and the ability to communicate demonstrated outcomes to stakeholders in support of future funding.
