Learning & Development Program for Chapter Leads at a Major Retailer
Major Australian Retailer
The Story
We are moving to a new, scaled agile operating model to respond faster in a highly disruptive market. With Tribes, Squads, and Chapters now in place, we need to prepare our new Chapter Leaders for success. We want a practical learning experience that helps us build a shared understanding of what Chapters are for, adopt the right roles and mindsets to work effectively across Tribes and Squads, and uplift our leadership capabilities so we can achieve our objectives.
Our Approach
In collaboration with the retail client, ADAPTOVATE designed and delivered a tailored learning program that equipped Chapter Leaders with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to lead effectively.
- Designed a "Build, Coach, Share" learning model to build capabilities through simulation, apply learnings safely through coaching, and share lessons among peers to reinforce knowledge
- Developed a self-assessment for Chapter Leaders to understand their strengths and areas of development
- Aggregated and synthesized best practices, tools, and techniques into scenario-based learning activities to support Chapter Leaders across their maturity journey
- Delivered modular, fit-for-purpose immersion sessions to expose Chapter Leaders to common scenarios they face in role to uplift capabilities
Results & Impact
Outcomes
ADAPTOVATE facilitated the Chapter Lead Immersion for approximately 150 Chapter Leads across the business to improve their understanding, confidence, and capability in role. All participants were upskilled in Chapter Lead capabilities and self-reported a 15% increase in their capability and confidence in role compared to their pre-Immersion scores.
“I love that we had the opportunity to commit to dedicated learning… that focused on giving us new tools, skills, and ways of working. From start to end, my confidence was just fundamentally much more positive at the end.”
