Business Agility in a Global Automotive Company
Global Automotive Company (HR Technology & Transformation)
The Story
The Challenge
Our HR Technology and Transformation team has recently implemented Agile practices. We believe there is an opportunity to improve predictability and speed of execution. We want to evaluate the current state of the program’s operations through an agile lens, and would like an independent assessment and recommendations around key opportunities to improve ways of working and agility across the program.
Our Approach
In collaboration with the automotive company, ADAPTOVATE worked with their agile teams and leadership to assess the current state and provide solutions to improve. By working alongside key participants and stakeholders, ADAPTOVATE:
- Conducted a study with key participants including program leads, Product Owners and Scrum Masters across multiple workstreams
- Used meeting observations, work-management data analysis and team interviews to examine team operations and value delivery through an agile lens
- Gathered and analysed quantitative and qualitative data to understand where the program was, and was not, effectively adopting business-agile practices
- Presented recommendations to the program leadership and centre of excellence to discuss and prioritise key findings
Outcomes
ADAPTOVATE delivered a prioritised set of recommendations across four areas: a tailored agility diagnostic providing a framework for prioritisation and continuous improvement (business agility); resetting focus from team output to business outcomes (business impact); a shift to a product mindset for incremental delivery of the highest-value priorities (speed to market); and improvements to the enablers of business agility — purpose alignment, team structure and effective ways of working (operations effectiveness & efficiency).
