Pledge 1% – Building OKRS and Roadmapping at a University

Facilitating OKRS and Roadmapping for an Australian University to align teams.

ADAPTOVATE continue to support PLEDGE 1% in giving back to the community in all our regions.

Context

Our client is a leading Australian university, and was leading a multi partnership program aiming to empower communities to lead their recovery from natural disasters in Australia​

The Program sought to foreground First Australian wisdom across the program for strong collaboration and partnerships​

The program team consisted of people from two different organisations with different ways of working and cultures of communication​

They were seeking greater transparency and alignment across their program of work. Existing program outcomes were highly aspirational with the team struggling to align their work and break outcomes down to tangible working outputs to set timelines​

Reporting back to multiple external partners across not-for-profit, foundations and local government required clear accountability, demonstrated outcomes, and return on investment to gain future funding

Key Activities

ADAPTOVATE facilitated Objective and Key Result (OKRs) and Roadmapping workshops to align the team on expected outcomes, priorities and helped break down the work needed to deliver on expected outcomes​

Delivered follow up small group coaching sessions to further refine and uplift OKRs, defining sprint goals and creating tangible work items to support goals​

Close collaboration with team members responsible for embedding ways of working so that agile ways of working receive buy in from the team and are sustainable, including:​

Focused training to build the skills and knowledge to support alignment of the broader team​​

Agree on approach supporting cultural considerations including interactions, language and further highlighting indigenous participation ​

Facilitated Showcases for the various teams to celebrate and share learnings​

Results

• 5 Work streams with defined OKRs and roadmaps to support clearly defined and tangible program level outcomes​
• 1 Single team cadence to foster transparency, collaboration and alignment​
• 15 Trained in agile ways of working across 5 weeks​
