Running a Design Sprint for a Singapore Government/Secondary School

Context

Our client is a Singapore government/public secondary school that runs a school-wide “Design Innovation for Sustainable Living” programme, a Ministry of Education national initiative providing students opportunities to apply their learning in the real world

The school leadership team wanted to equip their teachers to support the programme and develop design thinking skills and a disposition for innovation in their students

The client sought assistance in training their teachers in support of their innovation and sustainability efforts

Our Approach

ADAPTOVATE customised and ran a full-day Design Sprint workshop with a dual objective of innovating for sustainability in the school and training 35 teachers with the skills and knowledge to teach design thinking to students in a practical and applicable manner

Trained 5 lead teachers to continue mentoring the teaching staff with design sprint and design thinking skills​

Equipped 35 teachers with a suite of practical design thinking facilitation tools and skills that are immediately applicable in the classroom.​

Guided teachers to develop and test innovative sustainable solution prototypes

Results

Teachers provided feedback that they were more confident in guiding students to innovate through design sprints and keen to apply their learning into the classroom​
